The world’s largest car-maker Toyota Motor Corporation is planning to bring its small car brand Daihatsu on markets of India, Brazil, Russia and China.
Toyota Motor Corporation and its daughter company Daihatsu (Daihatsu is 51.2% owned by TMC) are going to produce a new Daihatsu brand car.
The small car will be the absolutely new compact car, which will be marketed by both companies. It will be launched in the end of 2010 or beginning of 2011 being built under the codename Entry Family Car (EFC).

The Robot Harvester is designed by industrial designer Olga Kalugina. It is a self driven robot created to scan street territories and shopping centers for trash and accumulate them to the right place for disposal and recycling.

Honda Motor Co develops a new personal mobility devise – first drive system that enables movement in all directions. It was designed to take up the same amount of space as a human being to be safe and unobtrusive enough to mingle with pedestrians.

Honda’s new U3-X experimental vehicle device looks like a unicycle. It has the regular large wheel of a unicycle, which is made up of many tiny motor-controlled wheels, packed inside the bigger wheel. The device can move in any direction, including not only forward and backward, but also directly to the left and right and diagonally, just as in human walking. To move, you lean your body weight the direction you want to go.

General Motors Company announced today that the automaker and its joint ventures sold 181,148 vehicles in China in September. For the first nine months as a whole, General Motors’s sales in China totaled 1,292,549 units, which represented an increase of 55.6% from the first nine months of the last year. This is a new record for the period.
Domestic sales of GM’s manufacturing joint ventures have been strong throughout the year. Its flagship joint venture, Shanghai General Motors, sold 71,566 vehicles in September, which was an all-time monthly sales record. For the year, Shanghai GM has sold 480,202 vehicles, an increase of 40.4% from the first nine months last year.
“Sales continue to surpass forecasts as nearly all market segments experience growth,” according to General Motors China Group President and Managing Director Kevin Wale. “Great products always drive great sales results,” said Wale. “At GM, we are delighted with the success of our new range of world-class models. In the compact sector, the new Chevrolet Cruze has sold more than 48,000 units in just six months. The Buick New Regal has sold 63,954 units since its launch last December. The new Buick LaCROSSE set a new standard for the upper-medium sector, with sales of more than 19,400 units in its first three months on the market”.
